Sheriff P.J. Tanner encourages Beaufort County residents and guests to stay informed on issues surrounding public safety. To raise awareness of the many services provided by the Sheriff’s Office, a video series, “Lowcountry Law: A Look Inside of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office,” was launched and premiered on February 2, 2018.

The sixth installment of the "Lowcountry Law" series has been uploaded to the Sheriff's Office YouTube page and is now available for you to view (https://youtu.be/AcfGEwzSRrM). This video segment highlights the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office's school resource officers (SROs) and the partnership with the Beaufort County School District. The Sheriff's Office provides all public middle and high schools in unincorporated Beaufort County with SROs, whose primary role is to provide a safe educational environment for students and school staff and administration. 

The Sheriff's Office also recently introduced the 'P3 Tips' mobile app as an added safety measure allowing students the ability to anonymously report suspicious activity to law enforcement. 'P3 Tips' is a free app and can be downloaded through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store on smart devices.
