Road Closure May 5th. Tyler Ave will be closed between Bodger St. and Mildred St.at 8am to 5pm for an event.

Join the City of El Monte for a free full-day fiesta celebrating Mexican heritage and literacy during the 35th Annual Fiesta of Books and Cinco de Mayo celebration on Saturday, May 5, 2018. Revered Mexican artist Rozenda Bernal will be headlining the musical performance.

The event will kick off at the El Monte Community Center with the Fiesta of Books. Pre-school through 6th-grade students from the El Monte school districts will receive two free books. Books will be available from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The celebration will continue at Arceo Park with performances by acclaimed artist Rozenda Bernal, Mariachi Latino de Jose Cervantes, Pasteles Verdes, Radio Risas Mc’s, Noe Garcia “El Ronco” and Hugo Armando, and more than 15 other performers, groups and artists. The performances will take place from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Guests will also have an opportunity to enjoy food and game booths, face painting, a moon bounce, a poster contest and more.
