Suspicious circumstance report in Corte Madera has been resolved.

A possible child luring attempt that occurred earlier this week in Corte Madera was resolved yesterday after the driver of the van contacted Central Marin Police.

On Monday afternoon an 11-year old girl walking in the 100 block of Prince Royal Drive was approached and offered a ride by a man in a gray Honda van. The girl said “no” and the van drove away. The child’s mother contacted police and information about the incident was subsequently broadcast to the media, on the neighborhood social network Nextdoor, and shared with parents in the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District.

Yesterday the man driving the van contacted CMPA after he learned about the incident from a friend. He told investigators that on Monday afternoon he was driving his gray van on Prince Royal Drive, accompanied by his two children, on their way to Granada Park. The park is just up the street from where the girl was contacted. He saw the girl and pulled over to offer her a ride home. When she declined he continued on to the park. Both the man and his vehicle match the descriptions provided by the girl. Investigators have determined that no crime was committed and that there is no merit to the child luring.
