HANOVER, Pa. — Police say an armed robber fired a gun at a pursuing officer Wednesday night in Hanover, York County. Police released two grainy surveillance images of the suspect and this description: Advertisement - Sex/Race: Male/Black - Age: 20s - Height: 5’ 7” to 5’ 10” - Build: Thin - Clothes: Black ball cap, gray T-shirt, blue jeans and a black sleeve, possibly a compression sleeve, on his right arm Police said the man had a silver handgun, possibly a revolver. Police Statement Poplice said the incident happened around 9:20 p.m. Wednesday. The department received a call about a man holding a gun and standing in the roadway near High and Poplar streets. “Police arrived in the area general area, encountering two male subjects in the 200 block of N. Franklin Street. Upon seeing police, one male subject advised that the other male had a gun. The male subject with the gun then began to run away while displaying the gun,” police said. “At this point it was learned that the male subject now running had attempted to rob the other male and had threatened yet another male subject with the gun just prior to police arrival.” An officer chased the man on foot along the 300 block of High Street. That’s where police said the man “fired a shot in the direction of a pursuing officer.” The man was last seen running west on Pine Street. Police said no one was injured.
