Suspicious circumstance in Corte Madera on Monday, May 1st.

Larkspur, CA – May 2, 2018. Central Marin Police are investigating a possible child luring attempt that occurred Monday afternoon in Corte Madera.

On May 1st at 3:50 p.m. an 11-year old girl was walking in the 100 block of Prince Royal Drive after getting off the bus after school. She reported that she was approached by a male subject in a late model gray Honda mini-van who asked if she wanted a ride home and said he had other children in the van. The girl was unable to confirm that there were other passengers in the van. She said “no” and the van drove away. The driver is described as a white male, approximately 40 years old, with a “scruffy” face and shoulder length, orange colored dreadlocks. This incident is still being investigated and in an abundance of caution, we will provide extra patrol in the area for increased security. At this time we are unaware of any similar occurrences.

Witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact CMPA Investigations Bureau at 415.927.5150.
