PRESS RELEASE - Fatal Auto Collision 
Sunnyvale, CA. - On 05/01/2018 at 7:17 a.m., Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety patrol and fire personnel responded on the report of a vehicle into a light pole on Evelyn Ave. at Pastoria Ave. Officers arrived and found the lone driver, an elderly male suffering from major injuries. Lifesaving medical efforts were started, but the driver did not survive. The identity of the driver is pending with the Medical Examiner.
No other vehicles were involved. The cause of the collision is unknown. The collision is being investigated by the Sunnyvale DPS Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Anyone who has information or witnessed the collision is asked to contact MAIT Investigator Lt. Tracy Hern (408) 730-7109.
