Update to Bank Robbery at Blackhawk Community Credit Union- Charges referred to the Rock Co. District Attorney's Office

On Friday, April 27th, 2018 officers from Madison Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Home Savings Bank, located on the eastside of Madison. The suspect, later identified as Matthew Kitsembel, 30 YOA, of Janesville, was apprehended a short distance away from the bank robbery and arrested for the offense.
Matthew was interviewed reference the robbery of Blackhawk Community Credit Union, 2704 E. Milwaukee St, on April 18th. Matthew admitted committing the robbery of the Blackhawk Credit Union. Matthew was taken to the Dane County Jail. Charges of armed robbery and an unrelated theft were referred to the Rock County District Attorney’s Office.
Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3:6 Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
