Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are conducting a murder/suicide investigation. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at approximately 3:30 p.m., near Munz Ranch Road and the California Aqueduct, unincorporated Los Angeles.

The family member of a missing couple contacted Lancaster Station Thursday, April 26, 2018, at approximately 12:30 p.m., stating they had found the vehicle that was associated with the missing couple from Wednesday, April 25, 2018, out of Lancaster.

Lancaster Station deputies conducted an extensive search of the area for the missing couple, with the assistance of Aero Bureau. At approximately 3:30 p.m., they were able to locate a male and a female that were each suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. They were pronounce dead at the scene.

A firearm was found at the location.

Detectives believe the male and female are the same couple that were reported missing out of Lancaster Wednesday, April 25, 2018. 

The couple’s identity will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the following missing persons and/or their vehicle. 

Jovan Webb, a 30 year old black male and his girlfriend Haley Mercer, a 21 year white female, were last seen in April 25th, 2018 at 6:00am. Mr. Webb is 5’11, 180lbs with black hair and brown eyes and suffers from depression. His girlfriend, Haley, met him at his apartment and is also missing. She is 5’2, 120lbs with brown hair and brown eyes.

Their families and investigators are in fear for their safety. Webb is possibly driving his red older model Mazda Miata Convertible with a black top, unknown license plate.
