Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are conducting a murder/suicide investigation. The incident occurred on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at approximately 3:30 p.m., near Munz Ranch Road and the California Aqueduct, unincorporated Los Angeles.

The family member of a missing couple contacted Lancaster Station Thursday, April 26, 2018, at approximately 12:30 p.m., stating they had found the vehicle that was associated with the missing couple from Wednesday, April 25, 2018, out of Lancaster.

Lancaster Station deputies conducted an extensive search of the area for the missing couple, with the assistance of Aero Bureau. At approximately 3:30 p.m., they were able to locate a male and a female that were each suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

A firearm was found at the location.

Detectives believe the male and female are the same couple that were reported missing out of Lancaster Wednesday, April 25, 2018. 

The couple’s identity will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Missing Persons Detail is seeking the public’s assistance in locating two At Risk Missing Persons.

Thirty year-old Jovan Webb, a Black male, and 27 year-old Haley Mercier, a Caucasian female, were last seen on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 6:00 A.M.

It is possible the couple is travelling in Mr. Webb's older model, red Mazda Miata Convertible with black top (pictured above, unknown license plate).

Mr. Webb is described as 5’11” tall, 180 lbs., black hair with brown eyes.  Ms. Mercier is described as 5'2" tall, 210 lbs., brown hair with brown eyes.  Mr. Webb suffers from depression and both are residents of Lancaster.

Family and investigators are in fear for their safety and are asking for the public’s help locating them.
