Distracted Driving Leads to Injury Collision

On April 25, 2018, at 12:22 a.m., officers responded to a major traffic collision in the 3700 block of 190th Street.  The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a gray Toyota sedan was travelling eastbound on 190th Street while texting on a cellular phone. The driver of the sedan ultimately rear-ended an 18-wheeler tanker truck.  
 
The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries; no additional injuries were reported. 
 
The Torrance Police Department is grateful this collision did not result in any fatalities and continues to warn the community about the dangers of distracted driving.
