Petty Theft
Location: 2000 Block of El Camino Real

An officer responded to a business on the 2000 block of El Camino Real on the report of a shoplifter in custody with a Loss Prevention employee. The officer contacted the female suspect who admitted to stealing items from the store valued at $158.13. The suspect was arrested.

Hit and Run
Location: 3200 Block of El Camino Real

Officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of El Camino Real on the report of a hit and run.
Upon police arrival, the victim and witnesses stated the suspect vehicle was seen driving into the parking lot of a nearby motel. An officer located a vehicle matching witness descriptions and made contact with a female subject in front of a motel room. A Records check revealed the subject had a $15,000 warrant out of Brentwood. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Fraud
Location: 601 El Camino Real

An officer met with a victim in the lobby of the Police Building at 601 El Camino Real.
The victim received a phone call from an unidentified person via an international phone number. The caller told the victim there was a warrant for the victim’s arrest in Hong Kong and there was danger of losing their passport and green card if the victim did not follow the caller's instructions.
The victim followed the caller’s instructions and wired $81,000 to several individuals via nine transactions between 3/21/18 and 4/12/18. All of the wire transfers were to locations in Hong Kong. This investigation is on-going.

Warrant Arrest
Location: Stevens Creek Boulevard and Kiely Boulevard

An officer observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Stevens Creek Boulevard. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop on a male suspect.
A Records check revealed the suspect had a warrant issued by the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. He was taken into custody and booked at the Santa Clara County Jail.

Possession of Stolen Property
Location: Newhall Street and Washington Street

An officer observed a vehicle with half of a registration tab on the license plate. The officer conducted a vehicle registration check and discovered it was expired. The officer initiated a traffic enforcement stop in the area of Newhall Street and Washington Street.
A Records check of the female driver revealed she had an outstanding warrant, was on searchable probation and had a suspended driver’s license. During a probation search of the vehicle, the officer located a wallet containing multiple identification and bank cards that did not belong to her. She was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Drunk in Public
Location: 2900 Block of El Camino Real

An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of El Camino Real on the report of a male subject causing a disturbance by challenging motel guests to fight and acting as if he had a gun.
Upon arrival, the officer located the described male shouting vulgarities and insulting motel guests. The subject had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and had trouble balancing. Due to his alcohol intoxication and proven inability to care for his own safety, the subject was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Assault
Location: Civic Center Park, 1601 Lincoln Street

An officer was conducting a park patrol in Civic Center Park and made contact with a male subject for unpermitted camping. The subject was asked to leave and refused to do so. The officer asked the subject for his identification and he became extremely upset. The subject stood up, picked up a board and swung it at the officer’s head. The subject then tried to evade the officer by walking south towards El Camino Real. The subject hit a wall of a building with the board, was not following the officer’s instructions and attempted to strike the officer a second time with the board. The subject actively resisted being taken into arrest.
The officer received a cut on the elbow and chin as a result of the incident. The subject had a cut on his knee. The Santa Clara Fire Department was summoned to render first aid to both individuals.
A search of the subject yielded drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.


Burglary
Location: 100 Block of Saratoga Avenue

Multiple officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Saratoga Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary that had just occurred.
Upon arrival, an officer observed a vehicle with a broken rear passenger window and the door ajar. There was movement in the damaged vehicle by a person attempting to conceal themselves. The subject was detained and found to be a 14 year old male. The juvenile was in possession of stolen property from eight victim vehicles at that address. Much of the stolen property was returned to the victims, however, the damage to the vehicles is estimated to be in the thousands.
A Records check revealed the juvenile was a missing person and had a felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to Juvenile Hall.

Felony Warrant Arrest
Location: 3200 Block of Mission College Boulevard

Officers working as a two-person unit noticed a suspicious vehicle parked on the 3200 block of Mission College Boulevard. The vehicle had the windows rolled down, the head lights were on and it was occupied by a male subject.
A Records check revealed the subject had a $200,000 felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
