Damiunte Tyree Esquire Stylewalker of Riverside is arrested following a traffic pursuit

DATE/TIME: Tuesday, April 24, 2018 / 6:55 am

INCIDENT: Traffic Pursuit

LOCATION: State Highway 18 near Rancherias Road, Apple Valley

SUSPECT(S): Damiunte Tyree Esquire Stylewalker, 33 years old, from Riverside

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at about 6:55 am, Deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station observed a black Honda motorcycle speeding and passing motorists on the right shoulder of eastbound State Highway 18 near Rancherias Road. The motorcycle was traveling more than 100 mph and matched the description of a recently stolen black Honda motorcycle seen in the area. The rider, Damiunte Tyree Esquire Stylewalker, turned south on Navajo Road where he was forced to stop at a stop sign due to traffic. Deputy Jonathan Walsh pulled behind the motorcycle and activated his overhead lights and siren to conduct a traffic enforcement stop. Stylewalker looked at Walsh and immediately pulled around several motorists and accelerated away southbound on Navajo Road, failing to yield to Deputy Walsh’s lights and siren. Walsh pursued Stylewalker as Stylewalker sped thru traffic, past occupied school busses and through an occupied school zone before he pulled into a school parking lot on Navajo Road. Stylewalker was detained without incident. Deputies learned he was employed as a security guard at the school. Due to his willful disregard for the safety of motorists and pedestrians during the pursuit, Stylewalker was arrested for Felony Reckless Evading. Stylewalker was transported to High Desert Detention Center where he was booked for Felony Reckless Evading. There were no injuries to anyone during this incident.
