SMPD Arrests Two Adults and One Juvenile for Carjacking

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, around 10 p.m., SMPD received a 911 call from a victim who was at home. The victim reported that while parked in the 2100 block of Stratford 30 minutes earlier, he was carjacked and robbed at gun point and his Lexus and cellphone were taken. Officers responded to the area of the incident to look for the suspects and they also met with the victim at his home. Following a delay from when the crime was committed to when it was reported,  the suspects were not located nearby and officers began actively investigating the incident.
SMPD Patrol Officers and our Crime Reduction Unit were able to quickly locate the victim’s stolen Lexus in San Francisco, which was occupied by two male subjects. The SMPD Crime Reduction Unit stopped the vehicle and both occupants were identified as the suspects involved in the carjacking.  The driver was identified as a 16-year-old male and the passenger was identified as 18-year-old Quinn Dodds, both of who were ultimately arrested.
SMPD Detectives assumed the investigation and identified a third suspect as 19-year-old Barry Vers, who was later contacted at his residence in South San Francisco and arrested. The two adults were transported and booked into San Mateo County Jail. The juvenile was transported and booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall.
SMPD Detectives are still actively investigating this case. The investigation revealed the victim appeared to be targeted and this was not a random act. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to please contact Detective Nick Morsilli. (650) 522-7670 or at
