Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash

Gerson Izaguirre, 21, of Mastic, has been identified as the pedestrian who was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle in Shirley early this morning. The vehicle involved was described by witnesses as a red sedan with possible damage to the front end and driver’s side.
 
Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Incident:         Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash
 
Location:        William Floyd Parkway, near Flintlock Drive, Shirley
 
Date/Time:     Sunday, April 22, 2018 at approximately 2:30 a.m.
 
 
Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Shirley early this morning.
 
A man was walking west to east across William Floyd Parkway, just south of Flintlock Drive, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on April 22, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on the parkway. The vehicle left the scene of the crash.
 
The victim, who remains unidentified at this time, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. 
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
