Full Notification

On April 22, 2018 at 12:02 AM, the Middleton Police Department was notified of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident with injuries that had occurred in the parking lot of the Middleton Sport Bowl located at 6815 University Avenue. The first officer arrived on scene within one minute of the call and found that the victim, a 26 year old man from Madison, had sustained significant injuries after being run over by his own vehicle.

Preliminary information from witnesses and nearby video surveillance indicates that after the victim parked his vehicle in the parking lot, it began rolling backwards after he exited. The victim attempted to stop the vehicle but was partially run over in the process. He was transported to UW Hospital by ambulance but later died as a result of his injuries.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident or may have information is encouraged to contact the Middleton Police Department at 608-824-7300. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.
