*2nd UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Detectives Locate Murder Suspect From Unincorporated Gardena-Arrest Made
Authorities in Pflugerville Texas advised suspect Kevin Darnell Dickson has been taken into custody after a several hours long stand-off. Suspect Dickson refused to surrender himself to US Marshals and the Travis County Sheriff's Office. Instead, he barricaded himself inside a home believed to belong to his ex-wife. A special weapons team made entry into the home and took Suspect Dickson into custody. No other occupants were in the home at the time. The homeowner, who was not home during the incident, has been cooperative with the investigation and appears to have had no knowledge Suspect Dickson was wanted for a murder in California.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators developed information indicating Suspect Dickson had fled the scene of the murder and within hours was headed across the country. They quickly determined his probable destination was Pflugerville Texas. With the help of the Austin County Sheriff's Office, United States Marshal Service, and the Austin Police Department, Suspect Dickson was located and eventually taken into custody after a brief struggle. Suspect Dickson will be booked into the Travis County Jail to await extradition to Los Angeles County.
