Felony Retail Theft

4/18 – 1:01 p.m. – Police responded to Lee’s Home Center, on South Illinois Street, for a retail theft that had just occurred. A male subject had fled the store with a power tool set, valued at over $300. Employees had attempted to stop the suspect, which included a female employee getting on the hood of the suspect’s vehicle. The driver began to accelerate, and the employee fell off the vehicle. Luckily, she was uninjured. The suspect fled in the vehicle, which was also occupied by a female. The employees were able to obtain a license plate from the vehicle, and officers put out an Illinois State Police broadcast. In the early morning hours of April 19th, the Dupo Police Department stopped the suspect vehicle, and apprehended the suspect and the female occupant. He was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine by the Dupo Officer. A Millstadt Officer conducted an interview with the suspects, and the report was forwarded to the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. On April 20th the state’s attorney’s office charged the male suspect, Brandon L. Krueger age 25 of Dupo, with Retail Theft; a Class 3 Felony. His bond was set at $30,000. Krueger was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine; a Class 3 Felony. His bond on that charge was set at $30,000.
