Sheriff P.J. Tanner encourages Beaufort County residents and guests to stay informed on issues surrounding public safety. To raise awareness of the many services provided by the Sheriff’s Office, a video series, “Lowcountry Law: A Look Inside of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office,” was launched and premiered on February 2, 2018.

The first video segment provided an overview of the Firearms Training Simulator (FATS), which trains and better prepares our local law enforcement officers in use-of-force situations. The second video segment featured the Sheriff's Office Forensic Services Laboratory and its various capabilities, the third video segment provided an overview of the Sheriff’s Office Bloodhound and Patrol K-9 units and the fourth video segment outlined the capabilities of our Aviation Unit.

The fifth video segment of "Lowcountry Law" has been uploaded to the Sheriff's Office YouTube page and is now available for you to view. In recognition of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the fifth video segment highlights the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office's partnership with a most valuable community organization, Hopeful Horizons. Hopeful Horizons provides much needed resources, counseling and support to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
