Since Tuesday morning the police department has received multiple reports of what callers have described as gunshots, fireworks, or explosions occurring between 10:30 PM - 2:00 AM. Some of the reports have come from residents familiar with firearms and believe they are hearing gunshots. Whatever the sounds are they have been loud enough to get residents awake.
All reports put the activity as coming from somewhere in the vicinity of the north end of Quentin/SR 72/North Cornwall Road/Zinns Mill Road area.
We have not been able to identify what these sounds are nor where they are coming from.
Anyone with information concerning this activity is asked to contact the police department at (717) 274-2071. Residents hearing these suspicious noises at night should call 911 immediately.
