Larvicide Event - The Mercer County Mosquito Control will be conducting an aerial (by helicopter) larvicide event on Friday, April 20th from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm in several communiuties including Lawrence. Use this link for details regarding the product being used.


Health Survey - The Greater Mercer Public Health Partnership are asking people who live in Mercer County to give us feedback and suggestions about health services and issues in the region by completing this 10-minute survey. All responses are completely anonymous. There are no right or wrong answers; it's your opinion and personal experiences that matter.  Click here for link to survey.


Tree City USA & Arbor Day Celebration - Lawrence has once again been named as a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation. Click here for details. Join us on Wednesday April 25 at 12:00 pm in front of the Municipal Building to celebrate Arbor Day. More details are attached.


Ecological Center:  The Joseph H. Maher, Jr. Ecological Center at 3701 Princeton Pike is now open on Saturdays between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Residents may pick up screened leaf mulch and wood chips at no charge.  Residents may also bring brush, branches, leaves and grass to the Center for disposal.

Memorial Day Parade
Lawrence Township’s annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018.  You can thank our veterans and display community pride by taking part in the 2018 Memorial Day Parade. We invite Lawrence Township clubs, teams, youth groups, schools, non-profit organizations, drumlines, bands, classic cars and most importantly all Lawrence Township Veterans to join us by marching in this year’s parade.
 
The parade will assemble in the Lawrence High School parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and step off at 10:00 a.m. to follow Princeton Pike North to Darrah Lane and finish in Lawrence Veterans Park.  At the conclusion of the parade, a Memorial Service and Ceremony will be conducted in the Park.

Mother Nature Festival - Saturday, May 12, 2018, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Lawrence Nature Center. See flyer for more details.



Sewer Bills - Sewer bills are due in the Tax Collectors Office by 4:30 p.m. on April 25, 2018 to avoid any penalties.

Road Work
  • US Route #1 Road Widening - NJDOT is expected to begin the Route #1 road widening project the evening of April 23, weather dependent. Delays are expected as there will be lane shifts and closures in the southbound lanes between Nassau Park Blvd. and Quakerbridge Mall.
  • Route #1 Finishing touches are progressing on this project.   The circle is now open at Route #1 and Whitehead Road.  The construction project is still ongoing - please continue to use caution in this area.


 

Brush must not be placed at the curb for pick-up earlier than the weekend prior to your designated pick-up week.

The week of April 23 is  Zone 4.  If you are unsure of your designated zone for your property, you may check the On-Line Property search on Township website at www.lawrencetwp.com.

Material should be placed in an area on the street not greater than four feet (4’) from the edge of the pavement.  Trees greater than an 8-inch caliper may not be disposed of through curbside collection.  Materials shall not be piled greater than three (3’) in height.  Once the truck has collected your street, they will not return until the next month’s collection.
