Prescription drug take back events scheduled for April 28, 2018 at two Beaufort County locations. 
According to a 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused prescription drugs. The study showed that a majority of these prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, oftentimes from home medicine cabinets. To address the prescription drug abuse crisis locally and as a result of a coordinated effort between the Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Department and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, drug take back events have been scheduled for April 28, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at two Beaufort County locations.
The prescription drug take back events will be held at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 80 Shanklin Road in Beaufort and at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 104 Simmonsville Road in Bluffton. There will be no liquid medications, sharps, medical waste or inventory from medical practices accepted. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
