Aurora man arrested for Home Invasion

North Aurora, IL – This afternoon, officers and detectives of the North Aurora Police Department arrested a North Aurora man for several felonies that occurred in the 200 block of Linn Ct. yesterday.

It began yesterday at 5:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Linn Ct. for a home invasion, residential burglary that was in progress.  The offender was known to the victim, and was identified as Quincy L. Ivory, 34, of the 500 block of Rosewood Ave, Aurora.  A responding officer located the offender in his vehicle as it left the area and attempted to stop it, but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed and disobeyed traffic control devices so officers terminated their pursuit for the safety of citizens on the roadways.

Officers learned that Ivory forced entry to the residence, struck the victim and stole a cell phone and $150 cash before fleeing the scene.  The victim and Ivory have children in common.  The victim received minor, non-life threatening injuries.

After reviewing the case with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, an arrest warrant for Ivory was issued today for the following charges:

  • Home Invasion, a Class X felony
  • Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony
  • Aggravated Fleeing a Police Officer—exceeding 21 mph over limit, a Class 4 felony
  • Two counts of Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding—disobeyed 2 more traffic control devices, both Class 4 felonies.
  • Criminal Damage to Property—less than $500, a Class A misdemeanor
  • Domestic Battery—bodily harm, a Class A misdemeanor
Ivory’s bail was set at $100,000 / 10%.

This afternoon at approximately 12:20 p.m. a patrol officer found Ivory’s vehicle parked in the area of the residence.  Additional responding officers arrived and found that Ivory was inside and refusing to come out.  A detective was able to speak to Ivory and convince him to open the door, after which he was arrested without further incident.

Ivory was transported to the North Aurora Police Department and later transferred to the Kane County jail, where he will have a bond hearing tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

Criminal charges are merely accusations and Ivory is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
