Sonoma County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in a sexual assault case. This incident began shortly before 5:00 AM on Saturday, April 14, 2018 when a woman was found near the Safeway in Sonoma stating she had been beaten and sexually assaulted by strangers.
The victim stated she had been drinking at Bruno’s Bar in the Mission District of San Francisco. Before closing time she ordered a ride-sharing company to pick her up and take her home. A vehicle arrived and she got in but noticed another man in the back seat with her. A vehicle description cannot be provided at this time and it’s not clear if it was actually the ride-sharing company that picked her up.
The driver drove the rear-seat passenger and victim to an unknown location in Sonoma where she stated she was beaten and choked by the rear-seat passenger, then sexually assaulted by both the passenger and driver. The two men were described as either Hispanic or Middle Eastern and were speaking a different language she didn’t understand.
The victim was able to get away but sustained visible injuries to her face and neck. She was missing her black boots, cell phone and identification at the time of the report. The identification would be that of a 24-year-old San Francisco woman.
