A witness observed two male suspects leaving her neighbor’s residence carrying property and they were not associated with the residence. The two subjects were observed getting into a black four door Honda Civic with a smashed front windshield and fleeing from the residence with another male subject driving the vehicle.

Shortly after the initial call for service, deputies observed the vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 246 and conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle. Located inside of the vehicle, were three male occupants who were in possession of burglary tools (lock picks, glass cutter, mask, and putty knife), a stolen shotgun from the victim’s residence, and other suspected stolen property.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 36 year old Juan Jose Rodriguez of Lompoc, who was found in possession of illegal narcotics and driving a vehicle without a license. The front passenger was 35 year old Daniel Vargas of Lompoc, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug smoking paraphernalia. The rear passenger was 35 year old Francisco Omar Lozano of Lompoc, was found to have an active felony “no bail” warrant and a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Lozano also lied about his identity. Juan Jose Rodriguez was booked for residential burglary, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance, and driving while unlicensed.
