* At 923 AM EDT, small streams throughout the region were responding to heavy rain that has been falling since the early morning hours. With more rain on the way, some of these small streams are expected to exceed their banks in places. In addition, roadway flooding has been reported from eastern Pennsylvania into central and northern New Jersey. An areal flood warning has therefore been issued. Heavy rain is expected to taper off early this afternoon.
