High Wind Warning until 05:00AM Tuesday

...Increasingly strong winds for the mountains and deserts tonight through Monday night... ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 5 AM PDT TUESDAY... The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a High Wind Warning...which is in effect from midnight tonight to 5 AM PDT Tuesday. This is an upgrade and the Wind Advisory is no longer in effect.

* Winds...Southwest to west winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph developing overnight. Stronger winds at speeds of 35 to 50 mph and gusts 70 to 80 mph are expected to develop on Monday and continue into Monday evening before shifting to the northwest.

* Timing...Winds will develop this evening then strengthen tonight. The strongest and most widespread winds are expected for Monday afternoon and evening. The winds will weaken late Monday night after turning to a northwest direction.

* Location...Near mountain ridge tops and along desert mountain slopes and passes.

* Impacts...The winds will make driving difficult...especially for motorists with high profile vehicles. This will impact Interstate 8 through the San Diego County mountains...and Interstate 15 and the Cajon Pass. Wind speeds over 70 mph can cause down trees and powerpoles. Watch for broken tree limbs and other debris.

* Outlook...Another round of strong west winds is expected for Wednesday night into Thursday night.

* Reports...Report wind damage to law enforcement.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RIVERSIDE COUNTY MOUNTAINS ... SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS ... SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS
