* Heavy showers and storms will cross the region tonight, ahead of a strong cold front. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible, with a potential storm total rainfall of 2 to 4 inches. This may lead to flash flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.
* Street flooding is possible, especially in areas of poor drainage. Rapid rises on creeks and streams may occur, which could result in flooding on nearby roads and bridges.
* AFFECTED AREAS: DAVIDSON ... FORSYTH ... GUILFORD ... RANDOLPH ... STANLY
