* Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast Georgia, North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina, including the following areas, in northeast Georgia, Rabun. In North Carolina, Alexander, Avery, Burke Mountains, Cabarrus, Caldwell Mountains, Catawba, Cleveland, Davie, Eastern McDowell, Eastern Polk, Gaston, Greater Burke, Greater Caldwell, Greater Rutherford, Henderson, Iredell, Lincoln, Macon, McDowell Mountains, Mecklenburg, Polk Mountains, Rowan, Rutherford Mountains, Southern Jackson, Transylvania, and Union. In upstate South Carolina, Cherokee, Greater Greenville, Greenville Mountains, Oconee Mountains, Pickens Mountains, Spartanburg, and York.

* Light to moderate showers will expand across the area this morning, with thunderstorms with heavy rain developing later this morning and into the afternoon as a cold front pushes through. * Excessive rainfall may push area creeks and streams out of their basins, and urban flash flooding will be possible as well.
