SOFTBALL EQUIPMENT STOLEN FROM A GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL TEAM RECOVERED AND ONE SUSPECT ARRESTED BY SIMI VALLEY POLICE.

In March of 2018, a commercial burglary occurred on the Ventura College campus. The burglary suspect broke into a structure that contained softball equipment belonging to the Foothill Technical High School girls’ softball team and stole over $6,000 worth of equipment.

On April 13, 2018, Detectives from the Simi Valley Police Department received information that equipment stolen from the team was pawned at a local second hand business in the City of Simi Valley. Upon further investigation, the property was in fact the stolen softball equipment and the suspect was identified as David Youell, 38 years from Ventura.

The Detective Bureau and officers from the Simi Valley Police Department obtained and served a search warrant at Youell’s residence in the City of Ventura. The officers recovered several additional items stolen from the team that were located both in Youell’s residence and in his vehicle. Youell was subsequently arrested for possession of stolen property and booked into the Ventura County Main Jail.

In the coming days, the Simi Valley Police Department will process the stolen softball equipment and quickly return it to the team, so the girls can get back to playing ball.
