Shootings Have Police Asking for Community's Assistance

  The Berkeley Police Department is asking for information regarding two shootings which occurred on April 12, 2018.  At approximately 9:39pm, the Berkeley Police Department received multiple calls of shots fired in front of two different addresses on the 1600 block of Russell Street in South Berkeley.  Officers responded to the scene and found no gunshot victims but evidence which indicated a significant number of shots were fired causing some property damage.

At 9:48pm, another shooting was reported on the 2900 block of Mabel Street.  Officers responded there but found no victims.  At this time it is unknown if the two events are related.

BPD is asking for anyone who has any information regarding these crimes to contact the Homicide Detail at (510)981-5741.  Detectives are also asking homeowners to review and share any surveillance video relevant to the shootings.
