Nature of Incident: Attempt to Identify Three Suspects involved in a Stolen Wallet and Identity Theft Crime

Narrative:
The Camarillo Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man and two women who are believed to have stolen a wallet from a woman’s purse and then used her credit cards to make over $4,000 in fraudulent purchases at two locations in Oxnard.
On 03-27-18, a woman went shopping at Ross Dress for Less in Camarillo. While she was shopping she placed her purse in her shopping cart. When she went to purchase her items, she noticed her wallet had been stolen. Video surveillance showed a man and two women inside the store that were possibly involved in the theft. The victim stated that while she was in the store she was being distracted by a woman with an Eastern European accent that could be Russian or Middle Eastern.
Soon after leaving Ross, the woman started to get credit card alerts from Target and Best Buy. Several fraudulent transactions had been made using her credit card. The same man and one of the females that were seen inside of Ross Dress for Less were also seen on video surveillance using the victim’s credit card to make illegal purchases at Best Buy and Target.
The three subjects possibly involved in the crime are described as follows: One was a white or Middle Eastern man, slightly balding, with a beard and mustache and a medium build. He wore a grey Armani T-Shirt and black jeans while at Ross. One female was described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern, with brown hair, approximately 5’8. She wore a blue jean jacket, black shirt, black pants, and white gym shoes. The second female was described as a Hispanic or Middle Eastern, with long black hair, approximately 5’5. She wore a black zip up jacket, black pants, and white gym shoes. In the video surveillance she appears to have a slight pigeon toed walk. Pictures of the three subjects have been attached.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public to keep purses or valuable items with them at all time while out in public. Thieves often look for crimes of opportunities such as valuables being left unattended or left in plain sight of a locked or unlocked vehicle.
