“Paint Cedars Pink”

During the month of May, the Borough of Harvey Cedars will be partnering with Hackensack Meridian Health to “Paint the Town Pink.” Paint the Town Pink is a community wide effort presented by Hackensack Meridian Health to raise awareness of the importance of annual mammography and women’s wellness. We want to encourage women, aged 40 and older, to have their annual mammogram and to remind women to continue to put wellness first in their lives. We invite all Harvey Cedars business owners to become “Pink Partners.” Pink Partners are integral in this campaign, as their participation serves as a visual reminder for women to “think pink” as they make their way through town. Businesses must register by April 12th, 2018 to receive a free pink kit to decorate and be listed as a Pink Partner on the official Paint the Town Pink website. Participation is completely FREE, and Pink Partners are encouraged to get creative and show their support in ways that reflect their personality in our community. Additionally, “Pink Funds” have been set up at all Hackensack Meridian Hospitals to provide wellness services to uninsured and underinsured women in our communities.  If you or someone you know in the Southern Ocean County area needs a health service, but can not pay for it through insurance or other means, please contact the Women’s Center at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin at 609-978-8900, ext. 4232, and a representative will assist you with the process of accessing the Pink Fund.
