...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FORM NOON TO 8 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWESTERN COLORADO FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS INCLUDING FIRE ZONES 207 AND 290...AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 295 BELOW 8000 FEET... .Southwesterly flow will increase across southwestern Colorado on Wednesday as high pressure shifts east and a cold front approaches. Gusty winds will mix down to the surface with very low afternoon relative humidity values creating red flag conditions where fuels are at critical levels. ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 207 AND 290... The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 14 percent.

* IMPACTS...New fire starts will be difficult or impossible to control due to fast rates of spread. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

* AFFECTED AREAS: PARADOX VALLEY ... SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA
