Statewide Tornado Drill | Thursday, April 12
This week is Tornado & Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin & there will be a statewide tornado drill on Thursday, April 12th. This will be an ideal time to practice your plans for what you would do at work & at home during a Tornado Warning.
A Test Tornado WATCH will be issued at 1pm, followed by a Test Tornado WARNING at 1:45pm. These will both end at 2pm. Following this will be a second tornado drill in the evening with a Test Tornado WARNING issued at 6:45pm, which will end at 7pm.
A tornado WATCH means that tornadoes are possible & you should be monitoring the situation via a NOAA Weather Radio, your local television stations or your cell phone, which will send you a Wireless Emergency Alert. A tornado WARNING indicates that a tornado has been spotted either on radar or visually by spotters on the ground & you should take shelter immediately.
