Social Media Threat to “CHS”
On 04/09/18 at approximately 11:30 P.M., the Janesville Police Department received several complaints from citizens regarding a threat to “CHS.” Our department began investigating the threat and quickly determined that the picture some citizens had received was a re-circulation of a social media post made last week.
Other law enforcement agencies in the country have received similar calls about this.
An individual was arrested last week for this same post in New Mexico.
At this time we have no credible or new information to support there is an active threat to Joseph A. Craig High School, sometimes referred to as “CHS.”
The police department has worked cooperatively with Janesville School District staff and local School Resource Officers regarding this matter.
