MEDIA INFORMATION:

On April 8, 2018, at approximately 1945 hours, Redwood City Police officers responded to the parking lot of BevMo Liquors located at 1745 El Camino Real on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they encountered a 31-year old male with multiple gunshot wounds. The injured male was transported to a nearby hospital with life threatening injuries, and is in critical but stable condition after undergoing life-saving surgery.

Preliminary information indicates the shooting is tied to a prearranged drug sale between the suspects and victim for a large quantity of Marijuana. The victim was in the parking lot of BevMo Liquors, when the suspects approached him. Sometime during the initial drug transaction, the suspects shot the victim several times. After the shooting, the suspects fled the location. All four suspects left the area in the described vehicle. All four suspects are still outstanding. This incident appears to be an isolated criminal incident between the victim and suspects. There is currently no information to suggest there is an ongoing threat to the general safety of the public.

Persons with information about this case are encouraged to call Detective Joe O’Gorman at (650) 780-7147.
