Incidents 280 Reports 39

#009 Metal Health Evaluation
Officers responded to an ascertain the problem call in the 41700 block of Grimmer Blvd.  A subject called FPD stating he had just been shot by an associate of his, but no further description was given.  Units responded and quickly determined that no shooting had occurred.  The reporting party was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to the hospital.

#012, 013, 014, 015 Auto Burglaries
CSO Schwartz investigated four auto burglaries that occurred in the parking lots of hotels located on Landing Parkway overnight.

#019 Suspicious Circumstances
The Fremont Jail was closed after a janitor reported a male had brought a suspicious package in into the jail lobby.  Review of video surveillance showed a male walking into the jail lobby wearing rubber gloves and a surgical mask.  The male placed a bag into a locker, and then locked the locker with his own lock.  The male then sprinted out of the jail lobby, northbound towards Stevenson Blvd.  ACSO EOD was requested to examine the locker and contents and patrol units began checking the area for the subject.  The 38 year old male was located just west of the Police building and refused to comply with or provide his name to officers.  The male shouted obscenities and yelled at officers the entire time.  At the conclusion of the interview, the male suspect ripped the light fixture off the ceiling of the interview room and damaged the dry wall.  The male was placed under arrest for obstructing/resisting, vandalism <$400 and a probation violation.    ACSO EOD evaluated the suspicious bag which contained personal items and trash.  The jail was re-opened and the male was booked at Santa Rita.

#025 DUI Arrest
At 1:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of Mowry and Blacow after a male was seen passed out in the driver seat of his vehicle while on the roadway.  Officers arrived and located the male sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and unresponsive.  After tapping on the windows several times, the male woke up.  The male slowly exited the vehicle and stumbled.  He was disoriented, uncoordinated and had an unsteady gate.  There was a distinct odor of marijuana coming from his person and inside the vehicle   The 22 year old adult male was contacted and placed under arrest for suspicion of alcohol/drug impaired driving as well as possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.  The male was transported to the hospital where a McNeely Warrant was written authorizing an evidentiary blood draw after the male refused to provide a blood sample. 

#029 Stolen Vehicle
A gold 1996 Honda Accord (Ca Lic. #6PCG519) 4-door was taken from the Osgood Walmart parking lot between 2:20 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.  CSO Tsai conducted this investigation.

#035 Stolen Vehicle
A maroon 4-door Honda Civic (Ca Lic. #6MTT744) was taken from the area of Blacow Rd and Calaveras Avenue at an unknown date and time frame as the registered owner is out of the country.  Officer Blanchet conducted this investigation.

#037 DUI Arrest 
At 8:49 p.m., a hit and run call came in on Auto Mall Parkway.  The reporting party told dispatch that the suspect drove to the Total Wine and More store located on Boscell Road following the collision.  The victim found the suspect vehicle in the liquor store parking lot.  The suspect was contacted at the store shortly thereafter by Officers.  Traffic Officer Burch determined that the 35 year old adult male was alcohol impaired.  The male was placed under arrest and the hit and run was unfounded.  Case documented by Traffic Officer Burch. 

#003 and #005 Auto Burglaries
Officer Fuellenbach responded to a report of an auto burglary and found at two vehicles that had been broken into.  Two suspects were described and suspect #1 was described as a male, black, 6’0” with a medium build.  Suspect #2 was only described as a shorter male, black.  They were reportedly associated to dark silver or grey Mercedes 4-door, or similar.

#010 Public Intoxication Arrest
At 9:08 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Riesling Ct. looked outside and saw an unknown vehicle parked in their driveway with a male sleeping inside.  Officer Singh contacted the male who was still asleep and recognized he was intoxicated.  The male did not provide a statement and was arrested for being drunk in public. 

#011 Theft
Officer Egan and FTO Smith investigated the theft of a green and black Trek mountain bike from the McDonald’s on Thornton Ave.  The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 24 years old, light facial hair, 5’7”-5’8”, with a gray backpack last seen riding away West on Thornton.

#018 Theft
At 12:12 p.m., officers responded to the area of 39000 Blacow Rd. after a home owner reported a male had posted a note on the exterior wall of their residence by their front door.  The note was posted using toothpaste and spoke about “PETA” and the “blood of Jesus.”  The male was seen by Lucky’s Mowry and store employees told officers the male had just stolen pharmaceutical items from the store.  Officer Goepp attempted to contact the male, but the suspect took off running.  Officer Goepp activated his emergency lights and siren and followed the suspect in his car while he ran from the area of Mowry/Blacow to the Mowry/I880 overcrossing and then onto the on-ramp of the freeway.  As the suspect became tired from running, Officer Goepp exited his patrol vehicle and quickly apprehended the suspect who was identified as a 20 year old adult male.  He was transported to jail for obstructing/resisting and theft.

#019 Threatening an Officer
At 11:23 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of southbound Alvarado and southbound I880 to conduct a welfare check on a male waiving sticks in the air and yelling at passing motorists.  One caller believed the male looked like a missing person they had seen on Nixle and called FPD.  Officers contacted the 53 year old adult male and placed him under arrest for being under the influence of a central nervous system stimulant.  At the jail, the suspect attempted to kick officers, so he was wrapped and transported to Santa Rita Jail.

#029 Under the Influence of Controlled Substance Arrest
At 5:10 p.m., a Fremont Police Community Service Officer was in front of the PD when he saw a subject acting bizarre and flexing for the front facing cameras of the building.  The 24 year old male was contacted and relayed he was high and wanted to go to Santa Rita Jail.  K9 Officer Layfield obliged and arrested him for being under the influence.

3 Mental Health Commitments

#040 Armed Robbery
At 10:02 p.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at at large “Air B and B” house party in the 37100 block of Towers Way.  At this party a DJ was hired.  Part of the DJs equipment was a Macbook computer.  A suspect, described as a black male, black, 18 years old, 5’04”, 124 lbs., grabbed the computer and fled.  The DJ gave chase and fought with the suspect in front of the residence.  The suspect produced a handgun and pointed it at the victim in order to facilitate his escape.  The suspect was last seen fleeing as the passenger in a dark grey Honda.  The driver was described as black male, 18 years old, with a thin build, last seen wearing a dark colored zip up jacket.

#004 Commercial Burglary
Officer Godrich investigated a commercial burglary that occurred at a business located in the 47200 block of Lakeview Blvd., where two suspects stole two machines, valued at $19k, from inside the business.  The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m.   Suspect #1: unknown race male, 5'8"-6'00", heavier build, white or grey sweatshirt and dark colored jeans.  Suspect #2: unknown race male, 5'7"-5'10", heavier build, black jacket and dark colored pants.  Suspect vehicle was a silver or white Subaru Outback 4-door.
 
#038 Estes Robbery
At 5:47 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 41900 block of investigate a theft that escalated into a robbery when the suspect pushed a store employee who was trying to recover merchandise the suspect had just stolen.  The suspect was described as a white male in his 30’s, 5’8”, approximately 140 lbs., last seen wearing a black jacket, dirty blue jeans and fled the scene northbound Fremont Blvd on a silver bicycle. 
 
5 Mental health commitments were handled between Day and Swing Shift.
