On 04-06-18 through 04-08-18 The Corcoran Police Explorer post 1500 attended the Central Valley Explorer Competition in Tulare, California.
The competition consists of scenarios and physical competitions designed to replicate possible situations that a police officer might encounter. The competition is attended by multiple explorer Posts, some as far away as Douglas County Nevada.
The Corcoran Police Explorer Post 1500 won 4th place in crime scene investigation, 3rd place in tug of war and 2nd place in the team obstacle course. Also there is a scholarship program for seniors and attending college students, which entails two written essays and an oral interview. This year there were 15 qualified applicants. Corcoran Explorer Gina Gonzalez tied for first place receiving a $1,000.00 scholarship and a lap top computer.
