REMINDER: Board of Water Supply crews are working to replace at least 15-feet of water main that is 20-inches in diameter on Dole Street near Kanewai Community Park.  Motorists are advised to avoid the area and to use alternate routes. To help ensure everyone’s safety on the roadways motorists that must drive through St. Louis Heights and the main break area are urged to exercise caution and drive slowly. Repairs to the main and the roadway are expected to continue overnight and possibly through tomorrow.

The following traffic modifications are in place:

  • All lanes of Dole Street are closed between East-West Road and Frank Street.
  • The mauka-bound lanes of St. Louis Drive are closed at the Dole Street intersection.  The makai-bound lanes of St. Louis Drive are open.
  • Motorists may enter and exit St. Louis Heights from Frank Street.
  • Motorists exiting St. Louis Heights from Frank Street must turn left onto Dole Street then turn right onto St. Louis Drive.

At this time the main break is impacting some customers in St. Louis Heights who may continue to experience low to no water pressure.  Roving water wagons are available for the affected customers by calling 748-5000 extension 1.

Customers in St. Louis Heights are asked to please continue to use water sparingly until further notice for essential needs only, such as cooking, cleaning and sanitary needs, to allow the system to recover.  Customers in Wilhelmina Rise, Palolo, Diamond Head, and Kaimuki customers may resume normal water use.

Regularly scheduled trash pickup for residents on Dole Street will be delayed until after the main break repairs are completed. In the meantime residents may leave the trash bins out.
