Incidents 346 Reports 50

#029 Assault with a deadly weapon
At 1:04 p.m., officers responded to a report of a confrontation that had just occurred on Brophy Drive between the drivers of two vehicles.  The witness told officers that they believed the incident stemmed from road rage where both drivers were seen swerving and cutting each other off.  The female driver pulled into a driveway and the male driver parked his vehicle and exited with a machete in his hand.  The male suspect pointed the machete at the female and swung it towards her. Some of the incident was captured on cell phone video. When the witness approached, the male suspect got back in his vehicle and began to drive away.  The witness followed the suspect until officers arrived and located the male on Mildred Dr.  The suspect was positively identified and arrested for brandishing a weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.  The machete was located in the front seat of the vehicle and collected for evidence.  The suspect was booked into the Fremont Jail.

#034 Petty Theft
CSO Spencer took a petty theft report in the 4800 block of Mowry Ave.  Video surveillance captures a suspect taking items out of an unlocked trunk of a vehicle.  The suspect is described as a white male adult in his late 30’s, wearing a grey and blue striped beanie, glasses and a grey hooded sweatshirt.

#036 Residential Burglary
Officers responded to the 40700 block of Mission Blvd. to investigate the report of a residential burglary.  When the officers arrived they cleared the house and discovered that the suspect had fled before they arrived.  After interviewing the victim they discovered that the homeowner was a victim of an auto burglary earlier in the day.  They parked their vehicle at the Great Mall in Milpitas and returned after a few hours of shopping when they discovered the break in.  The reported the crime to the police and returned home to find their house ransacked as well.  It’s believed that the suspect must have discovered their home address from their car and suspected they weren’t home.

#004 Resisting Arrest
At 2:43 a.m., officers are dispatched to the Sundale 7-11 in regards to a disturbance between local transients. The first arriving officer is immediately confronted by a male, later identified as a 25 year old San Rafael resident, who wants to fight. Cover units are requested and additional officers arrive. The male is arrested for several outstanding warrants, providing false ID to a police officer and obstructing/resisting.  He is booked into Santa Rita Jail without incident.
