Report of a Missing child
At approximately 3:08 PM Marietta Police Officers were notified by 911 dispatch that a mother had just reported her three-year-old child missing from their apartment at 1250 Powder Springs Street. Marietta Officers, Detectives, Marietta Fire and Rescue as well as Cobb County Sheriff Deputies responded and immediately began a search of the area. At 3:38 the three-and-a-half-year-old boy was located in Reeves Lake, near the shoreline. The child was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. An investigation into the incident has begun and no further information will be released at this time.
