Advisory

Dense Fog Advisory until 10:00AM

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING... ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* VISIBILITIES...One quarter mile or less at times.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph becoming west-northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph this afternoon.

* TIMING...Dense fog is continuing at this hour with conditions expected to gradually improve late morning. Southwest winds will increase this morning, then quickly shift to the west- northwest as a strong cold front crosses the area late in the morning into the early afternoon. A line of showers with embedded thunderstorms will move through with the front, and this could bring localized wind gusts to 50 mph or greater. Following the passage of the cold front, widespread west- northwest winds gusting 40 to 50 mph will occur through the afternoon before diminishing in the early evening.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power lines. Scattered power outages are expected.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL OCEAN ... EASTERN MONMOUTH ... MIDDLESEX ... OCEAN ... SALEM ... SOUTHEASTERN BURLINGTON ... WESTERN MONMOUTH

Instructions:

A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured. A Dense Fog Advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving...slow down... use your headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
