Department of Transportation clearing debris on westbound U.S. 278 Hilton Head Bridges. One lane temporarily closed. 
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is currently clearing trash and other debris from side of westbound U.S. 278 on the Hilton Head Island Bridges. SCDOT crews estimate the road clearing should be complete by 12:30 p.m. today. One lane is temporarily closed, which has caused traffic leaving Hilton Head Island to temporarily back up.
