Felony OWI Arrests

On 04/01/18 at 3:30 A.M., an officer of the Janesville Police Department stopped a vehicle near the intersection of E. Centerway St. and N. Garfield Ave. for operating left of center. The driver of the vehicle refused to identify themselves or exit the vehicle. During the investigation, officers were able to identify the driver based upon prior traffic stops involving the vehicle and prisoner photos. The driver was identified as David Nolte. Nolte had 3 prior alcohol related convictions and a 0.02 BAC restriction. Nolte partially exited the vehicle but then began to resist officers who were trying to take him into custody.

Nolte later submitted to standardized field sobriety testing and a preliminary breath test. Nolte was subsequently arrested for OWI-4th offense. Nolte provided an evidentiary sample of his blood for chemical testing. The results of that test are pending. Nolte was held at the Rock County jail pending an initial appearance.

On 04/02/18 at 1:33 A.M., an officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of S. Academy St. The vehicle was occupied by a sleeping male, with the engine running, and headlights on. The officer had contact with the driver who was identified as Antonio Alvarez. The officer observed Alvarez displayed signs of impairment by alcohol.

Alvarez later submitted to standardized field sobriety testing and a preliminary breath test. Alvarez was subsequently arrested for OWI-7th offense. A check of his driving history showed 6 prior alcohol related convictions. Alvarez refused to provide an evidentiary sample of his blood for chemical testing. A search warrant was drafted to obtain a sample. The results of that test are pending. Alvarez was held at the Rock County jail pending an initial appearance.

Alvarez also was arrested for 2 outstanding warrants through Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
