(82) area schools now have STOP THE BLEED kits! Does YOURS? Do YOU know how to participate? MORE:

WHAT YOU DO MATTERS Seminar

Last night members of the Marietta Police Department and WellStar Kennestone Trauma Center hosted another training session made up of two safety programs: CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) and STOP THE BLEED.  Roughly (250) more community members were trained on both the best practices to survive a shooting incident as well as how to stop uncontrolled bleeding.  This was the third such combined event hosted by our two agencies and we are proud to announce that now roughly (600) area residents have now attended the WHAT YOU DO MATTERS training.

WellStar Kennestone Trauma Center has committed to the state that they will train school officials the STOP THE BLEED initiative across a large region.  Upon completion of the training, the schools will each receive (12) free emergency trauma kits from the Georgia Trauma Commission.  Several other agencies have also signed up to work with the WellStar Trauma Network to assist in completing this training.  When our partnership With WellStar Kennestone Trauma Center began a few short months ago, no Schools had received their training or kits.  We are excited to report that the news about the value of this free training is spreading.  Several schools have signed up to attend the combined training sessions and as of last night (82) local schools have now received training and their free kits!

While we hope we never need to use this training, we remain committed to educating the public about how we can work together in the event of an emergency.  The next WHAT YOU DO MATTERS training session will be held on April 19th from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.  Registration is free, but seating is limited.  Register via Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/what-you-do-matters-crase-meets-stop-the-bleed-training-tickets-44370832354
