Flood Warning until 02:15PM

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flood Warning for... Rain and Snowmelt in... Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Eastern Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia... Southern Barbour County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 215 PM EDT

* At 820 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will cause flooding. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkins, Philippi, Audra State Park, Belington, Mill Creek, Dailey, Mingo, Beverly, Junior, Womelsdorf (Coalton), Huttonsville, Montrose, Harman, Laneville, Pheasant Run, Alexander, Cheat Bridge, Dryfork, Glady and Helvetia.

* Some streams and rivers that may experience flooding are the Upper Tygart Valley River, Shavers Fork and various other smaller streams and creeks. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. You may also report flooding by posting your report to the Charleston West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX. &&
