Deputies respond to barricaded subject, later arrest him for domestic battery and burglary

SUSPECT: Vincent Fernandez, 27, Needles, CA.

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:44 a.m., deputies from the Needles Police and Sheriff’s Department, responded to the 400 block of D Street, reference a domestic disturbance and shots fired. Upon arrival, a male subject, later identified as Vincent Fernandez, barricaded himself, along with the victim and their child in the residence and refused to come out. Deputies distracted Fernandez, which allowed the victim and child to get out of the residence. Deputies contacted Fernandez at the rear door of the residence and began negotiating with Fernandez to come out. Additional personnel breached the front door and entered the residence, and Fernandez was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.
Fernandez was booked on Domestic Violence and Burglary. The victim was transported to the Colorado River Medical Center, via ambulance for treatment. The child was taken and placed into the protection of Child Protective Services.
