INCIDENT: Felony Evading/ Possession of a Controlled Substance

LOCATION: B Street at Acome Street, Needles, California

SUSPECT(S): Jaime Vizcaino, 38 years old, resident of Modesto, CA
Christy Pierce, 32 years old, resident of Modesto, CA


SUMMARY:
In the morning hours of Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Sergeant Busto from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department's Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a black Honda sedan for failing to stop at a posted stop sign at Broadway and H Street. The suspect sped away at a high rate of speed leading law enforcement through the city streets at speeds up to 50 miles per hour and failing to slow down or stop at any of the numerous stop signs.

The driver, later identified as Jaime Vizcaino, suddenly stiopped and jumped out of his car at B Street and Acoma, then ran between several houses. He was located moments later and arrested without incident. A baggy of suspected methamphetamine was recovered from the driver’s compartment of his vehicle. Additionally, his girlfriend and vehicle owner Christy Pierce, was found walking in the area by Deputy Vega. When Vega contacted her, she was in possession of a controlled substance and arrested for HS11350(a).

Vizcaino was arrested and booked at the Colorado River Station's Needles Jail for felony evading arrest and possession of a controlled substance with his bail set at $100,000.00. Pierce was booked into jail for possession of a controlled substance and was set to be released from the jail with an order to appear in court per the cite-release.
