Traffic stop leads to arrest of Owensville man on drug charge.

On March 27, 2018, at 10:25 p.m. Special Deputy Tyler Martin observed a White 1998 Dodge Intrepid traveling on Broadway from the area of Hart Street in Princeton with no working headlights taillights on the vehicle. Upon stopping the vehicle Deputy Martin identified the driver as 18 year old Jace Schmitt of Owensville, Indiana. During a roadside investigation investigation Deputy Martin located Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia inside the vehicle. At that point Mr. Schmitt was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail Mr. Schmitt was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana. He remains in custody on a $550 bond.

Assisting Deputy Martin in his investigation was Princeton Police Officer Matthew Perry.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
