Taxi cab driver robbed over the weekend

At 11:35 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018, Police Dispatch received a call stating a cab driver had been injured during a robbery; the victim drove himself to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial indications are that the cab driver was dispatched to the parking lot of West High School to assist a couple who had locked themselves out of their car.  While the victim was attempting to unlock one of the vehicle doors, the female hit him from behind with a collapsible baton.  The victim was struck more than once in the head and on his body.  The male and female suspects demanded money; the victim handed over the cash he had on his person.  The male suspect then threw the cab driver to the ground.  The male and female suspect got into their own vehicle and drove away.
The male and female suspects left in a blue sedan; no further descriptions are available at this time.  During the course of the investigation detectives will explore the possibility that this robbery may be related to the robbery of the taxi driver that occurred on March 22nd.
